We currently have an opening for an outgoing, friendly professional to join our Human Resources team as our Receptionist/HR Assistant in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia. This vacancy is to fill a pregnancy/parental leave and reports directly to the Human Resources Director.

As our Receptionist/HR Assistant you are eager to welcome visitors to our facility and enjoy helping others. You recognize you are the first face people see when entering our facility. You thrive on the variety of work and have a professional demeanor and phone etiquette. You are punctual and dependable. You have a keen attention to detail and are well organized in order to meet deadlines.

Your key accountabilities are:

  • Receive and direct incoming telephone calls
  • Welcome customers, visitors and suppliers and ensure the visitor policy is respected
  • Administrative tasks such as preparing expense claims, typing and reviewing letters
  • Monitor and audit salaried employee labour variance
  • Process hourly employee time for payroll
  • Calculate and report hours for contract employees
  • Sort employee pay statements
  • Assist with employee disability claims
  • Assist in updating company digital displays
  • Create and maintain various reports for Human Resources
  • Update employee records in ADP Workforce now as needed
  • Assist as needed in processing of all Accounts Payable Invoices
  • Assist in scanning of all packing slips for Accounts Payable

 The successful candidate possesses:

  • Community College or 2-3 years of relevant experience
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, experience with ADP Workforce Now and/or Epicor is an asset
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment with time sensitive deadlines
  • Ability to recognize and appropriately handle sensitive and confidential information
  • Highly motivated and have the ability to take initiative
  • Proven ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Friendly, positive attitude, able to work independently as well on a team
  • Ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal), as well attention to detail is essential to be successful in this position

 

 

Financial Controller (Labour)

We currently have an opening for an accounting professional to join our Finance team as our Financial Controller (Labour) in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia. This vacancy is a newly created position necessary to achieve the business objectives. This position reports directly to the Head of Finance.

As our Financial Controller (Labour) you have a keen eye for detail to analyze our current financial performance on our programs. You will be focused on labour activities including reporting, monitoring hours, and productivity for all programs. You clearly understand financial controlling and will partner with the teams to set and achieve financial targets. With your professional demeanour and team focus, you will work with the team to execute plans to optimize financial performance on each program.

Your key accountabilities are:

Execute financial governance by:

  • Activity based management
  • Performance controlling – reporting and monitoring actual hours results for all programs and raising actions.
  • Production support – produce and monitor the hourly rate targets for all programs
  • Productivity reporting
  • Produce the current year’s financial headcount forecasts for all programs
  • Produce program management tracking related to hourly/headcount targets
  • Highlight opportunities and challenges related to hours and cost
  • Support for internal and external audit

Perform end-of-month tasks:

  • Variance analyses and corrective action plans
  • Provisions
  • Allowances

The successful candidate possesses:

  • University degree or Community College diploma with a concentration in accounting.
  • Minimum three years working in the field of finance/accounting.
  • Working towards CPA degree is an asset.
  • Working knowledge of computerized accounting systems and ERP systems.
  • Able to work as part of a cross functional team as well as independently.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong sense of urgency to complete tasks with high attentions to detail.
  • Intermediate level in Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Power Point, Word.

We currently have an opening for an accounting professional to join our Finance team as our Financial Controller (Materials)in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia. This vacancy is a newly created position necessary to achieve the business objectives. This position reports directly to the Head of Finance.

As our Financial Controller (Materials) you have a keen eye for detail to analyze our current supply chain business processes. You will be focused on buy side activities including raw materials inventories, tooling, and capital expenditures. You clearly understand financial controlling and will partner with the supply chain team to set and achieve financial targets. With your professional demeanour and team focus, you will work with the team to execute plans to optimize financial performance.

Your key accountabilities are:

Execute financial governance by:

  • Reporting actual materials results for all programs (monitoring consumption of material, expenses and costs)
  • Produce and monitor the buy targets for all programs and central functions.
  • Produce the current year’s financial buy forecasts for all programs
  • Produce program management tracking related to targets
  • Highlight opportunities and challenges related to process and cost
  • Track and control Capital Assets
  • Support for Research & Development
  • Support for internal and external audit
